C3A-5Chamfering bars or rods, much like pipe beveling, is best achieved with an automated process. Automated chamfering offers the most consistent quality, while also being safer and faster than hand grinding. The type of chamfering machine best suited to an application will depend on the requirements: size of the bar or rod (if automatic loading is needed) and if dual ended chamfering is necessary.

For instance, the Double End ChamferMate®, is capable of chamfering both ends of bolt blanks, stud bolts, bars, rods, and even tubing & pipe. Capable of reaching 30 parts per minute, the DEC-3 is an ideal choice for large volume operations.

The Model C5H ChamferMate® is perfect for applications involving larger sizes of solid bars or studs. A heavy duty hydraulic machine, the C5H features typical cycle times of less than 20 seconds. The C5H can also be operated by limited skill employees, making the C5H a flexible chamfering solution.

The Model C3A ChamferMate® is an excellent option if the heavy duty power of the C5H or the specialization of the DEC-3 is not required. The Model C3A ChamferMate® will chamfer bars or rods with a ½” to 3” OD capacity. The C3A can machine or deburr solid bar, bolts, pipe (up to 2 ½”), and tubing easily and efficiently.
